Due to its light texture, it absorbs into the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. We add African marigold (calendula) which contains high amounts of flavonoids, plant-based antioxidants that protect the body against cell-damaging free radicals. We purchase our shea butter directly from women producers in Uganda.

    • Ugandan Shea Butter is a unique soft shea butter "Nilotica Variety" that is only found in Uganda and Southern Sudan. Our shea butter is purchased directly from Uganda where the women shea nut collectors harvest the nuts from various villages in Northern Uganda. The women collectors are paid 3 times more than normal wages in Uganda and 2 times more than market prices of shea nut in the open market. By harvesting the nuts, the women are also preserving the parklands. Each collector has a responsibilty to take care of the the shea trees in their local village.
